Campbell Woods’ songs call to mind Townes Van Zandt, and show the influence of mentors like Lynn Miles and Al Tuck. Story songs, road tested and time worn, resonate with familiarity. Instrumentation using mellotron, Wurlitzer, vibraphone and pedal steel in innovative ways make it all feel contemporary yet universal, even when the subject matter is one hundred years old. A genuine, honest delivery creates a sense of being a part of each song as it comes. Woods’ vocals remind you of John K Sampson or early, solo-acoustic Luke Doucet. Teardrops on the Table, a duet with Jadea Kelly, full of longing and sadness is worth the price all by itself.

– Tanya Corbin, Penguin Eggs Magazine

“Campbell Woods writes songs that sound just like like real life, in all its messiness and beauty.  As a songwriter, he’s kind of like a Persian miniaturist, capturing a moment in time and space in such fine detail that you almost see yourself in the picture.  Add in a sweet high tenor and some fine guitar work, and you’ve got yourself an evening to remember.
